Day 2 -Over 1000 people signed up in one day to participate in the Act of Kindness Challenge!

The kick-off to our 22 day act of kindness challenge was incredibly successful.  Thank you to everyone who has already signed up to participate in making Random Acts of Kindness part of their lives.

Between the three Booster Juice stores, and this website, over 1000 people from Canada, the United States, and India, have chosen to participate in this challenge!  I’m not sure exactly what I expected… but this is a phenominal response!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Stan and Henry from the local radio station 98.3 CIFM were on location at the Summit Booster Juice.  They contributed to the excitement and positive energy surrounding the event.  They both chose to participate in the 22 day kindness committment, and have invited me to join them on their morning radio show over the next twenty-two days to “check up on them” and keep them on track with the kindness initiative (I have a feeling they are actually inviting me on their show because they know I’ll bring them Booster Juice smoothies ;) )

Although you may not have signed up on the official “kick-off” day, we would still love it if you took the 22 day pledge.  Your “day 1″ of 22 can start anytime.  No one is checking up on the participants, it’s simply something you know that you are doing; going out of your way to do one more thing than you would have otherwise done to contribute positively to the world around you.  Please email me if you are choosing to sign up, where ever you are in the world, and whatever the date, it would be wonderful to see this program continue to grow.  The world can always use more kindness…it’s never too late to take the pledge.

About two weeks ago, I was invited to do an interview on one of the local radio stations, informing our community about the “Acts of Kindness Shifts”.  Once the interview was over, and I was about to leave the studio, one of the managers came out to the lobby specifically to say something to me.  He had listened to the interview I had just done, and had an insight of his own.  “When I was a boy, a few years ago now, my generation grew up hearing the message ‘do something nice for someone each and every day’.  I heard that message in Boy-Scouts, consistently, I think we were raised that way back then,” he explained.  “But my kids aren’t getting the same message from this world.  And that is why I think what you are doing is very timely, and very important.  As a father, I thank you.”

My heart swelled.  I couldn’t speak for a second.  He had moved me.  He reminded me that this program is important.  That is the day that the “Act of Kindness Challenge” was born.

We had been running the Kindness Shifts at the Booster Juice stores, but perhaps others would be willing to adopt this into their lives. Maybe other families would look at this as that gentleman had.  An opportunity to introduce this “core value” to their children.  A chance to revist the seeds that were planted from their earlier years, that perhaps they had been too busy to nurture in their own lives.  Sometimes all we need is an opportunity to remind ourselves who we are.  I challenge you to remember.

With love and gratitude,

Natalie. xo
